Hi, how are you? We hope that you are doing well. We know that it has been a while since our last post but this is because we were really busy this last 3 weeks. But here it is the new update of what God is doing here in Romania.
Two weekends ago we went with a small team to Cugir, a city 3,5 hours driving from Reghin. The city is surrounded by mountains and it looks still very communistic and not so alive. This is probably because it was hidden from the maps for many years as there is a gun factory in Cugir. It’s a perfect place to start a new work and bring more live in the city. This is also what Phoneo is doing right now; they are pioneering new projects and a new church. This turns out to be a kids’ church as there are no adults coming to the services but only kids. These kids are so hungry for God! We will go every month to Cugir to help with the kids’ church there.
We have also been working with a Home-Group located in a village called Breaza. There we share with people as friends. We preach the Word, we pray for people’s needs and we encourage them to keep believing. All this with the purpose to make disciples and to see the kingdom of God in their lives.
We also work in Selah, a project that brings kids to school and picks them up from school. After school the kids get food and they make their homework. After that the kids can play and we do nice activities with them, as baking cookies, crafts, telling a bible story etc.
For our Dutch family, friends and supporters we want to let you know that we will come to Holland from 21st of December until the 4th of January. Hola ¿Cómo estás? Esperamos que estés bien. Sabemos que ha pasado un tiempo desde que compartimos algo nuevo, esto es porque hemos estado realmente muy ocupados estas últimas 3 semanas. Pero aquí esta una actualización de lo que Dios está haciendo aquí en Rumania.
Dos fines de semana atrás, nos dirigimos con un pequeño equipo a una ciudad llamada Cugir, ubicada a 3,5 horas de Reghin (lugar donde residimos). Esta es una ciudad ubicada en medio de las montañas y aun se refleja la época del comunismo. Esto tal vez se debe a que era ocultada de los mapas ya que por muchos años es el lugar donde se ubica una fábrica de armas, donde muchas personas trabajan.
Es el lugar perfecto para comenzar una nueva obra y traer vida a esta ciudad. Eso es lo que Phoneo (fundación con la trabajamos) está haciendo; siendo pioneros de nuevos proyectos y nueva iglesia, que actualmente la iglesia pertenece a los niños ya que los adultos no vienen a los servicios, solo los niños. ¡Estos niños están tan hambrientos por Dios! Estaremos yendo cada mes a Cugir para ayudar y apoyar con la iglesia.
Tambien hemos estado trabajando con un grupo en casa localizado en un pueblo llamado Breaza, donde compartimos con personas como amigos. Predicamos la palabra, oramos por las personas y los motivamos a continuar creyendo. Todo esto con el proposito de hacer discipulos y ver el reino de Dios en sus vidas.
Tambien trabajos en Selah, un proyecto que lleva a los niños y los recoge de la escuela. Despues de la escuela los niños reciben alimentación y realizan su tarea. Luego de esto, puede jugar, hacen actividades, hornean galletas, arte con sus manos, historias bíblicas, etc.

Hoi, Hoe gaat het? We hopen dat het goed gaat met jullie. We weten dat het alweer een tijdje geleden is sinds onze laatste post, maar dit komt omdat we erg druk waren de afgelopen 3 weken. Maar hier is een nieuwe update over wat God aan het doen is hier in Roemenië.
Twee weekenden geleden waren we met een klein team naar Cugir, een stad 3,5 uur rijden vanaf Reghin. Deze stad is omgeven bij bergen en het ziet er nog steeds erg communistisch uit. Dit komt waarschijnlijk omdat de stad voor veel jaren verborgen was van de kaarten omdat er een wapenfabriek is in Cugir. Het is de perfecte plaats om een nieuw werk op te bouwen en om meer leven in de stad te brengen. Dit is dan ook wat Phoneo aan het doen is op dit moment: ze pionieren hier nieuwe projecten en een kerk. Dit blijkt een kinderkerk te zijn geworden, omdat er geen volwassenen naar de kerk komen maar alleen kinderen. Deze kinderen zijn zo hongerig voor God! We zullen elke maand naar Cugir gaan om te helpen met de kinderkerk.
We zijn ook aan het werk in een huiskring in een dorpje genaamd Breaza. Hier brengen we tijd door met de mensen als vrienden. We delen het Woord, we bidden voor de nodigheden van de mensen en we stimuleren hen om te blijven geloven. Dit met het doel om discipelen te maken en om het koninkrijk van God in hun levens te zien.
We werken ook in Selah, een project dat de kinderen naar school brengt en ze ook weer ophaalt. Na schooltijd krijgen de kinderen eten en maken ze hun huiswerk. Daarna kunnen de kinderen spelen en doen we leuke activiteiten met ze, zoals koekjes bakken, knutselen, bijbelverhaal vertellen etc.
Voor onze Nederlandse familie, vrienden en sponsers, we willen jullie laten weten dat we naar Nederland komen van 21 december tot 4 januari. Als u of jij met ons af wilt spreken of als jullie meer willen weten over het werk dat we hier doen, stuur on seen berichtje en dan kunnen we proberen om af te spreken! We zien ernaar uit om jullie te zien!
